For this reason, there are no restrictions on admission based on the specific BA obtained.

Personal Preparation Assessment

To be admitted to the Master's Program in Philosophical Knowledge: Foundations, Methods, Applications, students must have the curricular requirements and pass the personal preparation assessment. Without the curricular requirements, it is not possible to be admitted to the personal preparation assessment phase. To complete the missing requirements, it is possible to enroll in individual courses in order to enrolling in the following academic year.

The personal preparation assessment is mandatory and follows the curricular requirements assessment. Students with curricular requirements are admitted to an individual interview, which focuses on their previous academic career and aims to assess the adequacy of their personal preparation and, in general, to determine the knowledge required for admission to the program. The adequacy of personal preparation will be evaluated through an individual interview.

The following students are exempt from the interview: a) those who have obtained the "laurea triennale in filosofia" L-5 (or its equivalent in the previous Italian academic system) with a final grade of at least 100/110; b) those who are waiting to complete their "laurea triennale in filosofia" L-5 at the time of pre-enrolment with an average of at least 26/30 in the exams. In all other cases, admission is subject to a personal interview.

Candidates for the Master's Degree in Philosophical Knowledge: Foundations, Methods, Applications will be evaluated on the basis of their academic curriculum. If their curriculum is deemed appropriate, they will be invited to an interview in English. The purpose of the interview is to assess motivation, knowledge, and preparation in the major disciplinary areas that characterize the program in order to determine the ability to successfully complete the program.

The interview consists of two parts. The first focuses on general topics related to the applicant's previous academic background as well as topics relevant to the program, such as the history of philosophy, metaphysics, ethics, epistemology, logic, and philosophy of mind. The second part aims to identify the motivations that lead candidates to choose this educational path. The aim is to understand their scientific and linguistic skills, their familiarity with specific methodologies and disciplinary fields, and the topics central to their scientific interests.

The assessment of language proficiency at level B2 is done through an interview. Students who have passed an English exam at an equivalent level or who have an equivalent language certificate recognized by the Centro Competenza Lingue (https://www.unibg.it/studiare/frequentare/apprendimento-linguistico/rico...) are exempt from this test.

Students who are exempt from the personal preparation test and who are unable to demonstrate their language proficiency through the above methods will be required to take the language proficiency interview.

For international applicants requiring a visa and for all applicants with a foreign degree who take the online pre-assessment, the Academic Preparation Pre-Assessment Interview replaces the Initial Preparation Review required of general students. The Pre-Assessment Interview follows the same procedures as described above for the General Admission Interview.
